The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) is working on a proposal for
establishing 64 more Data Acquisition Units (DAUs) to enhance its outreach to general public.
At present 876 Data Acquisition Units are providing registration services to general public countrywide as more DAUs would definitely help meet Authority’s objectives to facilitate the people. According to Nadra here on Wednesday, there are 441 Registration Centres (NRCs), 11
Female Registration Centres (NRCs), 243 Mobile Registration Vans (MRVs), 7 Female Mobile Registration Vans, 100 Semi-Mobile Registration Units (SMRUs), 74 Manpack and Motorcycle Registration Units.
Double shift has also been started at 42 NRCs to further facilitate the applicants.
It merits mentioned here that the Authority established 535 Data Acquisition Units up to 2008 and to enhance the registration throughout the country, it further increased 341 DAUs particularly female centres, keeping in view requirements of the area.
Moreover, the authority is taking all possible measures to speed up process for issuance of Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) and to provide maximum ease/convenience to general public. In this regard, an average 45,000 to 50,000 applicants visit Nadra static and mobile platforms every day across the country and abroad for processing of their registration documents.
