A team of experts from Pakistan’s National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) will
visit the UAE from June 13 to 16 to resolve issues in obtaining the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).
The team will spend one day each in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE Jamil Ahmed Khan on Thursday urged Pakistanis facing problems in obtaining the NICOP to visit the embassy and consulate between June 13 and 16 to benefit from the experts’ visit.
Jamil held a meeting with the NADRA authorities in Islamabad and finalised the visit to Abu Dhabi and Dubai to troubleshoot problems faced by Pakistanis in obtaining NICOP.
Jamil said that the express mandate of the team is to recommend solutions to the problems faced by the members of Pakistani community in obtaining the NICOP because of the non-availability of documents necessary for processing requests. He added that the processing time for NICOP had improved in the last few months because of the efforts put in by the Embassy.
“We have further trained our staff to improve the quality of services and more qualitative measures are being put in place for a better service delivery,” the envoy said.
Earlier in May, Pakistan’s envoy had held exclusive meetings with members of the Pakistani community, including ethnic Baloch representatives, appraising them of the initiatives to add value to counselor services.
